  • An anti-free-market socialist rant: Wal-Mart Is Not a Business, It's an Economic Disease -- ...Lyndon LaRouche declared that Wal-Mart and its destructive policy must be stopped. LaRouche declared a boycott against Wal-Mart, to expose it and take it down. . . . "Wal-Mart is not a company, it's an epidemic disease. Wal-Mart is one of the biggest factors in causing unemployment in the United States.... Wal-Mart is your enemy.... It's destroying our community; it represents globalization; it represents an institutionalization of the values which stink." [LV Editor's Note: This is socialist drivel. Anyone who has read Lyndon LaRouche's literature knows that he is an advocate of central planning and government boondoggles. His writings, as well as the writings of socialists in general, overlook the toll that taxation and regulation take on economic growth and job creation. Instead, they blame the free-market for economic calamity. Government meddling in the economy stifles innovation, causes shortages, and drives up prices. The problem isn't that wages are too low. The problem is the burden of government taxation and thousands of laws.]
  • Ever wonder why George W. Bush repeatedly asserts that "they" hate us for our freedom, or that "they" are the enemies of freedom? He does this for two reasons. The first reason is to get "us" to hate "them." Convince people that a terrible boogeyman is out to get them, and that you're there to protect them, and they'll be more willing to accept your proposals. The second reason is to divert attention from the real reason that people in other countries harbor resentment toward the U.S. Bush likes to instill fear and panic by telling people that they are vulnerable to terrorism and then he whips them into a patriotic fervor with flag waving and talk of freedom.

Since the end of WWII the U.S. has maintained a militaristic, intervensionist foreign-policy which has included the overthrow of foreign governments, assassinations of foreign leaders, billions in foreign-aid and weaponry, manipulating foreign elections, installing puppet governments, as well as arming, training, and financing dictators and terrorists. Today the U.S. has over 200,000 troops stationed in over 100 countries, not because the citizens in those countries want our troops there, but because our government has bribed or threatened the governments of those countries into allowing us to station troops there. Furthermore, as a result of economic sanctions, foreign-aid, and direct military action, the U.S. has caused the deaths of over 2 million people over the past 40 years (although I believe the figure to be higher, the 2 million figure can be easily documented).

This is the recourse of weak-minded, covetous, and insecure fools who know of no other way to obtain the things they want other than to resort to stealing, killing, and destroying. So long as these people wield the reigns of power in government they will never have to face any personal consequences for their actions and their reckless conduct will continue. You and I will be the ones left holding the bag.

  • The recent recall election in California got me thinking. As I watched people flock to the voting booth I began to ponder why people view the state as such an appealing means of achieving ends. The state provides a convenient, moral disconnect which permits people the luxury of enjoying the benefits of force and plunder without suffering any consequences or guilt. The state makes it possible to evade responsibility, avoid labor, and force people to fund the advancement of endeavors and ideas that they might otherwise never voluntarily finance in the free-market.

  • A state-issued school-voucher program is nothing but a program to redistribute wealth. It's also a gimmick intended to divert attention away from the problem. Vouchers will not drive down costs or eliminate the waste and inefficiency indicative of government schools. Taxpayers will still be forced to finance the socialist enterprise. No one would tolerate the idea of having to beg the state for a voucher to buy groceries. Free people shouldn't have to beg the state for a voucher to buy education. The objective should be the extrication of the state from instutitions of learning. Effort expended to do otherwise is a waste.

  • After giving the matter serious consideration for many months I've decided to abstain from voting indefinitely. At first I considered the idea absurd but the more I thought about it the more it seemed like the moral thing to do.
